What are transits?
Transits are the ongoing, real-time positions of the planets as they move through the zodiac. Unlike your birth chart, which is a snapshot frozen at the moment you were born, transits keep changing every day.
Astrologers watch transits to understand the current cosmic weather. When a transiting planet enters a new sign or forms an aspect, it marks a shift in the collective mood that everyone can feel, regardless of their own chart.
How to read the calendar
Each entry shows the date and a short description of the event. A sign change means a planet has crossed from one zodiac sign into the next. A station is the moment a planet appears to pause before turning retrograde or direct.
Moon phases mark the rhythm of the lunar month, from new Moon to full Moon and back. Major aspects between slower planets are rarer and tend to define the tone of a whole season or year.
Why the sky matters
Even if you never calculate your own chart, the transiting sky sets a shared backdrop for timing. Knowing when Mercury turns retrograde or when a full Moon arrives helps you plan launches, conversations and rest.
Use the calendar as a planning companion. Pair it with your natal chart for personal timing, or read it on its own to stay in step with the collective rhythm.
